A special combination of active ingredients consisting of hydrogen peroxide and silver ions is atomized in the room using a special device. During this process, the hydrogen peroxide H2O2 decomposes without residue into its components water and oxygen – and thus disinfects surfaces and indoor air in a very friendly manner. Even areas that are difficult to access, which cannot be reached with wiping disinfection, are disinfected during cold nebulization (vaporization).
Cold nebulization does not replace traditional cleaning and ongoing disinfection, but offers effective additional disinfection – especially in challenging times such as the Corona/Covid-19 pandemic.

DISINFECT plus is a modern decontamination device that uses hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) to generate dry steam, thereby eliminating microorganisms and germs. The cold dry steam is a micro-aerosol and is generated by a patented ultrasound technology.
DCXF (DCX Fluid)
Decontamination with gaseous H2O2 is a highly effective decontamination process for rooms and areas with excellent compatibility for a variety of materials, electronic devices and any electrical systems. As a result, the preparation effort for decontamination is kept extremely low.
After decontamination, hydrogen peroxide decomposes to water and oxygen without leaving any residue. According to various hygiene research institutes, the use of “dry” fumigators with a low H2O2 concentration (between 4 and 8 percent) and a small amount of silver ions is very suitable for inactivating viruses, germs, bacteria, spores and fungi. DISINFECT plus uses a specially prepared 7.5% peroxide (DISINFECT plus fluid) for disinfection.
By adding special stabilizers, the medium can be stored for up to 18 months and is easy to store. Silver ions are also added to the liquid to support disinfection. The reagent is delivered in 10 liter canisters.
We offer special bio-indicators for monitoring decontamination. These indicators are extensively tested spores of Geobacillus stearothermophilus (ATCC # 12980), which is a particularly resistant but non-pathogenic germ. This way, the decontamination success of DISINFECT plus can be checked and confirmed safely and easily.
The germs are fixed on stainless steel carriers.

The use and evaluation of the bioindicators are very easy. The bio-indicator packaging is placed unopened in the room to be decontaminated and gassed with DISINFECT plus. The DISINFECT plus bioindicator is then collected again, the three steel carriers are removed aseptically and each individual plate is placed in a labeled, sterile tube with sterile nutrient medium and incubated. An evaluation is carried out by means of an optical assessment of the tubes.
An essential feature of the DISINFECT plus bioindicators are the three different spore concentrations described above in a single, divided packaging. This enables a spatial distribution of the micro-aerosol to be investigated in relation to successfully decontaminated log stages. Since three different log levels (log 4, log 5 and log 6) can be gassed at one point using a single package, it is possible to determine exactly which reduction has been achieved for each position in the room.
A built-in industrial computer serves as a control system and database and is operated with the touchscreen monitor. Safety monitoring is provided by separate relay circuits. Two card readers are installed. One of them is used to log in via a login card, the second is used in combination with the DCXF canister (DCX Fluid) with RFID technology. Among other things, an electronic scale is used, which uses RFID technology to prevent tampering with the liquid and thus serves quality assurance.
Important process parameters such as temperature and humidity are continuously monitored and recorded. The decontamination process is controlled by the data obtained. All recorded data can be read out on the integrated USB interface.
The ultrasonic bath is monitored with level measuring devices. Here, min. and max. level continuously measured and checked. If the liquid level is too low, the pump is automatically activated. The built-in ultrasonic vibrators atomize the DCXF (DCX Fluid), which is located in the ultrasonic tank.
On the back, DISINFECT plus also has connection options for heating, dehumidifier, fan, ventilation and additional temperature and humidity sensors
The software controls the most important hardware components by recording the operating times. The quality assurance of DISINFECT plus is made possible with RFID.
The documentation of the most important process parameters also serves for quality assurance and enables validation of the decontamination.
Control of regulation instead of coordinated control – A certain amount of hydrogen peroxide is released into the room until a set humidity value is reached. After falling below a predetermined threshold, the process starts again. This control circuit enables an exact release of hydrogen peroxide into the room and also makes the results of the decontamination performance reproducible.
The ultrasonic transducers integrated in the DISINFECT plus generate the effective aerosol particles of the decontamination medium DISINFECT plus. These particles are filtered by the “acceleration prism” developed and patented by DISINFECT plus. This means that only the smallest parts, the microaerosols, with a droplet size of <1 µm can get into the environment.
In order to effectively distribute the microaerosol in the room, the aerosol is additionally accelerated by an accompanying, faster air flow and can therefore spread quickly.
DISINFECT plus is equipped with an RFID reader. The reagent liquid is in a 10 liter canister inside the DISINFECT plus. This canister has a built-in RFID chip that sends data about the liquid level and content to the system (batch monitoring via RFID).
The decontamination system is thus able to recognize the correct agent and its batch number, to check it and to protect it against unauthorized manipulation.
If the reagent level approaches the programmed lower limit, a warning is issued. If the minimum limit is not reached, the system is locked because it detects that there is insufficient liquid to completely decontaminate the room.

The effectiveness has been tested by the private testing and research institute OFI (Austrian Research Institute for Chemistry and Technology) and tested and confirmed with suspension tests in the medical university of Vienna and in Hygiene Nord GmbH.
The tests were carried out in compliance with ÖNORM EN 13697 and the DGHM standard methods for testing chemical disinfection processes using various germ carriers.
By comparing the control and experimental groups, the excellent decontamination effect could be confirmed.
