DISINFECT plus emerged from a multi-annual research and development project in close cooperation with leading Austrian universities and institutes. The R&D work was supported by subsidies from the Center for Innovation and Technology (ZIT).
We aim to continuously optimize and improve the DISINFECT plus device, as well as the technology itself in order to increase the efficiency and usability.
In addition, tests and examinations are carried out in own test laboratories and in cooperation with leading research institutions and hospitals. The goal is to open up new areas of application and to substantiate the wide range of possible applications with scientific data.
Our decontamination technology has been tested by several research institutes. Read more about the proven effectiveness and confirmed reports.
Numerous scientific studies, including one from the Austrian Research Institute for Chemistry and Technology (ÖFI), demonstrate the effectiveness of hydrogen peroxide against all types of pathogens, including bacteria, viruses, fungi and spores. Research has been conducted in a model room on several germs (including highly pathogenic germs such as Clostridium difficile and MRSA). The results show that DISINFECT plus was able to reduce the bacteria by four to six decimal power after four hours. That relates to almost 100% sterility.

The Robert Koch Institute, Berlin, has carried out a series of experiments on hydrogen peroxide on various germs as well. A high level of decontamination success was achieved in 12 out of 15 trials. The results demonstrate the explicit effectiveness of hydrogen peroxide for the reduction of germs. Besides, the Robert Koch Institute recommends the Geobacillus stearothermophilus for checking the success of decontamination.
In addition, the effect of the DISINFECT plus DCX-technology was tested and confirmed by two different institutes:

A reduction of up to log-6 could be achieved with the DISINFECT plus DCX-technology. This has been proven i.a. by the scientifically documented large scale trial of the Styrian Hospital Company KAGES.
In further experiments with the Geobacillus and after technical optimization, the reduction of 5 log levels could already be achieved after 15 minutes.
Noroviruses (hNV) and feline calicivirus (FCV) also seem unable to cope with the DISINFECT plus DCX-technology, as the latest results have shown in cooperation with the Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences.
Further experiments, research and optimizations are carried out continuously and communicated regularly.
